Seeding requests
Seeding requests let a Captain ask the admin team to adjust their team's seed in an upcoming bracket event before the bracket is published. If you think your team has been placed in the wrong part of the draw — for example because of roster changes since registration, or a result that doesn't reflect your team's current form — this is the right channel.
When you can submit
The form is visible on the season page when all three of the following are true:
- The season format is a bracket event.
- The season is in Registration or Draft status (i.e. the bracket has not been activated yet).
- You are the Captain of an approved team in that season.
Once the bracket is activated (status moves to bracket_active) seeding is locked and submissions are no longer accepted.
How to submit
- Go to the season page — find the season in the seasons list or via your dashboard.
- Scroll to the seeding request card — it appears in the left column below your registration status.
- Write your reason — be specific: explain why you believe your seed should change and what you'd prefer. Admins use this to assess the request, so a clear reason helps.
- Submit — hit the button. You'll see a confirmation that your request is open.
What happens after you submit
Once your request is submitted:
- A Discord thread is automatically created in the moderation forum. The thread is tagged as a seeding discussion and your Captain and Vice Captain are added as members (along with the mod role) so you can follow the conversation directly in Discord.
- A "View discussion on Discord ↗" link appears on the season page next to your open request. Click it to jump straight to the thread.
- Admins and mods will review your request in the thread. They may ask follow-up questions or request more context there.
Resolution
An admin will either resolve or dismiss the request:
| Outcome | What it means |
|---|---|
| Resolved | The admin has acted on or acknowledged the request (seeding may or may not have changed — check the bracket). |
| Dismissed | The request was reviewed but no seed change will be made. The admin response explains why. |
When a decision is made:
- The Discord thread receives a closing message with the outcome and any admin notes.
- The thread is then archived automatically.
- Your open request on the season page updates to reflect the outcome.
Tips
- Submit early — admins finalise seeding before activating the bracket. Last-minute requests may not be reviewed in time.
- Be specific — "we've had roster changes and think we're underseeded" is more useful than "please move us up". Include any relevant context (recent results, player changes, etc.).
- Watch the Discord thread — the discussion happens there. Make sure your Discord account is linked to your OCElock profile so you're added to the thread automatically.
